Oak Cliff Cultural Center says
The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is excited to present Night Hatching by Bumin Kim. The exhibit will run from February 27 - April 3, 2015. Reception will take place on March 7, from 6-8pm. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

About the Exhibit
Night Hatching is a showcase of questions; an approach towards the idea of drawing in the expanded field. Bumin Kim explores the nature of line, and the potential held therein, to push the boundaries between two and three-dimensional space. Kim re-purposes the material context of thread and string, to emphasize the energy, delicacy, and grace of drawing. These works shift, undulate, and pulse into the surrounding space. As a result, drawing has been personified, and is no longer limited to the index of the hand.

About the Artist
Bumin Kim earned her BA in Korea in 2004, and came to the United States to pursue a master degree in drawing and painting at the University of North Texas in 2012. Kim has participated in group and collaborative exhibitions in Texas and is currently teaching foundation courses at the University of North Texas.
