The event creator says
Last February, I came up with this crazy idea of doing an event based around a favorite genre of music (of mine, Josh & John). John had just shown me a series on YouTube that was based on the music as well. This show was/is comedic gold, for any fans of the music, and provided the inspiration I was looking for.

The music I speak of is Soft Rock & Lite FM. Little did I know that I was not alone in my love of this music.

Artists like Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, Christopher Cross, Crosby, Stills & Nash, America, Bread and 10cc, have always been amongst my favorites. According to what John said, and per the YouTube series... the form of music was called YACHT ROCK.

Thus was born...

Over the last 12 months, TYC has changed location twice. Sadly, our original home The Gin Mill, was forced to close doors just as things were getting really good. Our move to The Cold Beer Company proved to be the wrong fit for TYC, mostly because of there being absolutely no shade on the patio, and the temps were triple digits. Now we call On Premise home. There patio is PERFECT for what I had originally envisioned, plus the food is super good, and super cheap.

....which brings me to mention the following

This will be our last voyage of the season. The cold weather has forced us indoors, and that was NEVER a part of the equation, in my mind at least. The Yacht Club and Yacht Rock, are meant to be enjoyed outside, and in sunny/warm weather. So for the time being... after this event...we will be docking the yacht.

For this final voyage we have welcomed back all of our previous Deck Mates.

HAULIN' BOATS (Joshua Kynd)
FEELY DAN (John Baugh)
JACKSON DROWN (Bryan Coonrod)
VINYL RITCHIE (Jonny 'jonene' Phelps)
LOU YAWLS (Sal Gato)
ROOS HORNSBY (Michael Roos)
DAVID BUOY (Scottie Canfield)

Boarding starts at 4pm

Fear not, we will still be at OP, every Sunday as usual. Just not doing TYC.
