Progression on the path of yoga involves a slow journey from outer to inner and from coarse to subtle. Connection to the subtle body suggests not simply an intellectual knowing but an embodied, cellular knowing. This intensive aims to embody wisdom by engaging the subtlety and power of asana training. In a process that requires sensitivity and inner listening, we explore the pathways of the muscle, bones and nerves in order to bring greater wakefulness to the body-mind connection.

This weekend, we connect to the inner most biorhythms involving pulse, breath and weight of bone. Underlying our teaching is that we do not do poses for the sake of the pose, but for the quality of attention within the pose. Through dharma study, guided meditation, somatic awareness, yoga postures and Zen Motion, this is a transformational weekend of practice and study. In this intensive we will investigate poems of awakening from the Taoist and Zen traditions.
Tias Little is committed to teaching yoga as a contemplative path, leading to greater sensitivity, tolerance and deep understanding (prajna). Tias unique and skillful approach enables students to find greater depth of understanding and awareness in their practice, both on and off the mat. His approach to the practice is inter-disciplinary, passionate, intelligent, innovative and full of insight. Tias synthesizes years of study in classical yoga, Sanskrit, Buddhist studies, anatomy, massage, and trauma healing.
