Texas Theatre says
Leni Riefenstahl's seminal and extremely influential document of the 1934 Nuremberg Rally has taken its place in history as one of the greatest and controversial documentaries ever made. Riefenstahl's film inspired countless future and contemporary filmmakers including Frank Capra, George Lucas and Paul Verhoeven. Riefenstahl's career, however, was cut short as she was virtually blacklisted around the world for her association with the film and its propaganda.

The digital presentation is from a new 2015 high-definition 2K remaster of TRIUMPH OF THE WILL from a duplicate 35mm fine grain master in 1.19:1 aspect ratio. Print source - Synapse Films

"Next to Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock, Leni Riefenstahl was the most technically talented Western film maker of her era" - Mark Cousins

Pauline Kael called Triumph of the Will and Olympia, "the two greatest films ever directed by a woman"

This screening is free for students and Texas Theatre members and will have a suggested $5 or $10 donation to the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth for others.

Following the film will be a discussion on the films impact and importance with Sean Griffin, a PhD in film & critical studies and Professor of Film at SMU.

Then stick around and make it a Saturday Double feature with Paul Verhoeven's STARSHIP TROOPERS at 830!
