Are y'all ready for a FREE party and concert?

The "What is Cinema?" Podcast is Dallas' newest arts and culture podcast, brought to you by a grant from the City of Dallas and recorded at the legendary, Texas Theatre.

The podcast is presented by The Oak Cliff Cultural Center and DO214 and hosted by film nerds Lee Escobedo (THRWD) and Patrick Patterson-Carroll (THRWD), with audio engineering by Christopher Kolleade (The Reunion Podcast) and branding by Arturo Torres (Illustrator of the New York Times bestseller, "The Rap Yearbook"). Episode 1 special guest is David Grover, owner of Spinster Records.

To celebrate the launching of this podcast we are having a FREE party at Oak Cliff Cultural Center next Saturday (Feb. 20) with FREE food and FREE drinks for those 21+!

Each monthly episode of the "What is Cinema?" Podcast will center around the film programming at Texas Theatre. For our first episode we are delving into the themes and framework of the 2000 film, "High Fidelity", starring John Cusack.

Since the film deals with the intersectionality of film and music, we decided to have a launch party with some of Dallas' best, and freshest acts. The launch party will feature performances by:

Special chopped and screwed set by Black Taffy: https://soundcloud.com/blacktaffy

Surf R&B stylings of Field Guide: http://fieldguidetothe214.bandcamp.com/

and a LIT DJ set by DJ Natural Hiiigh

This event is free and open to the public!
