Cancellation: Earth Day Celebration, electronics recycling

Mother Earth has a big gift planned for us! (Spoiler: It's up to 18" of projected snow Saturday.) This is fantastic news for for skiers, sledders and snowman makers, but bad news for outdoor events.

The Earth Day Celebration scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at Lakewood Heritage Center has been CANCELED due to expected weather. Please stay warm and safe out there, and let us know how you're celebrating Earth Day from the warmth and safety of your home!

An accompanying electronics recycling event also scheduled for April 16 next-door to the festival is canceled as well.

The Earth Day Celebration is Lakewood’s annual event designed to provide resources and information to residents to learn about living more sustainably, and it was set to be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on April 16 at the Lakewood Heritage Center, 801. S. Yarrow St. The Rooney Road Recycling Center Foundation’s electronic recycling event was scheduled for the same hours on April 16 at the Irongate office building, 777 S. Yarrow St.

Lakewood’s other events celebrating Earth Day on April 20, April 23 and April 25 will still occur. Visit Lakewood.org/EarthDay for more information and updates.
