Dancing The Dark Winter Solstice Party says
Here, amid the longest nights, we'll have a farewell party for this year's turn around the Wheel.
Dance to celebrate the deep still nights, their profound darkness and the informing dreams that these long nights bring.
Dance to welcome back the Sun...

For your ecstatic dancing pleasure, music will be provided by Sensory Orchestra, the fabulous band from Fort Collins. Electronic trance-dance-fusion! This click to their website gives a taste of their sound:http://sensoryorchestra.bandcamp.com/
Added Dec. 16: Big change!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Sensory Orchestra has had to bow out of the Solstice Celebration tomorrow night.

Appearing in their place will be Baddaboom, a big New Orleans-style brass band.

All our good thoughts go out to the extended Sensory Orchestra family, and our mighty thanks to Baddaboom for stepping in! <3
Spiraling in, spiraling out, then releasing on the flames... We'll also have Sun-turning dervish dance performance from Eva, Rafi'ah and the Mercury Cafe Belly-Dancers.
Rituals of chant and dance presented by Sára Rain.
Renna Shesso facilitates rituals of dispersing old energies.

This is our 10th annual Winter Solstice celebration at the Mercury Cafe. It's an all-ages event (older kids are half price; little kids are free). Wear what you please, including your favorite festive attire and your dancing shoes.

$15 at the door, doors open at 8 pm. The evening begins 8:30 pm, goes 'til the wee hours.
