First Friday Art Walk & Drip Opening Reception says
Kid-Friendly First Friday Art Walk in 40 West Arts District

Join us on First Friday, June 3, 5-8pm during Lakewood's INSPIRE Arts Week for the DRIP opening reception and a June Art Walk in the heart of 40 West Arts District! We'll have multiple creative destinations open to the public, free beer and wine, and multiple collaborative experiences for all ages including paint carnival games that involve popping paint-filled balloons and shooting paint-filled water guns to make art. Gallery 8025 will also be embracing the 'kids' vibe with an indoor swing and huge Lego station for kids (and their adults) to build lego sculptures big and small. Plus, enjoy the gallery's large sculpture gallery. And finally, artist Sean Doherty will open up his backyard playground at 40 West Studios for kids and adults alike to don whimsical tiaras, listen to live music and adventure among outdoor sculptures including giant flowers and life-size mannequins made of Coke cans, spoons and other recycled materials. Don't miss this night filled with free activities, refreshments and creative destinations!

And just like last time ... after the fun, head to the Lakewood Elk's Lodge #1777 for $1 beers and $3 tacos all evening long.

Locations include: 40 West Studios, 40 West Gallery, Faye Crowe Studio, LAC Gallery, Gallery of Everything, Gallery 8025, C-Squared Studios, The Elks Lodge and more!

Show Opening Reception: Friday, June 3, 5-8pm
Exhibition: Wednesday, June 1, 2016 – Saturday July 2, 2016
Gallery Hours: Tuesdays-Saturdays, 1-4pm

About the DRIP Show: Paint, water, tears, blood – all things that drip into and onto our existence and shape our experience in significant ways. We welcome artists' takes on the word “drip,” both what it conjures for him/her mentally and emotionally, and how the word “drip” is presented in his/her physical work.
