Join us for an unscripted conversation between Jess Walter, author of Beautiful Ruins and The Financial Lives of the Poets, and Dana Spiotta, author of Stone Arabia and Eat the Document. They’ll talk candidly about their work, their writing process, and more, live on stage.

Doors open at 5:30 PM at the Denver Art Museum's Lewis Sharp Auditorium. The reading and interview will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.

About Jess Walter & Dana Spiotta

A former National Book Award finalist and winner of the Edgar Allan Poe Award, Jess Walter is the author of six novels, one book of short stories, and one nonfiction book. His work has been translated into 30 languages, and his essays, short fiction, criticism, and journalism have been widely published in Best American Short Stories, Best American Nonrequired Reading, Harper's, Esquire, McSweeney's, Byliner, Playboy, ESPN the Magazine, Details, and many others.

Dana Spiotta is the author of four novels: Innocents and Others (2016); Stone Arabia (2011), which was a National Book Critics Circle Award Finalist in fiction; Eat the Document (2006), which was a finalist for the National Book Award and a recipient of the Rosenthal Foundation Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters; and Lightning Field (2001). Spiotta was a Guggenheim Fellow, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow, and won the 2008-2009 Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome. She lives in Syracuse with her daughter Agnes and teaches in the Syracuse University MFA program.
