Jewelry For The Apocalypse says
Tallie Dietz views the world as an exploded treasure chest and her process lies in reassembling the bits. “What happens is that I'll see a shape or color combination that I really love so I'll make some earrings or a necklace or whatever out of that idea and then I can have it with me all the time. Or sometimes I'll find an actual little thing; a shell, a rock, a bone, a piece of metal, a scrap of fabric, a rusted wing-nut, that is too beautiful to leave alone. I'll put it in my pocket and carry it around for a while. I usually find it again in the laundry. If I still like it, it gets incorporated into a real piece of jewelry.” It’s this component of story telling that comes through in her work and resonates with people, each piece has a history to it.

Meet the artist and view her latest collection, from her jewelry line Marrow, Friday April 3rd from 6pm-9pm at Fancy Tiger Clothing, 55 Broadway.
