Growing up in NY in the nineties, Marcelo Moxy was an extremely hyper-active child, bouncing between playing bass in skate punk bands, raving at all-night dance parties, or making hip-hop beats on early drum machines, synths, and sequencers for his friends who wrote rhymes. He eventually enrolled in jazz school to further his studies on the bass guitar.

Marcelo moved to Colorado in 2000 with a funky, psyche-rock outfit consisting of some of his best friends he met during his time at university. Later that year, Marcelo secured a warehouse on Brighton Blvd in North Denver, throwing all-night dance parties that lasted well into the morning with all sorts of local crews. He honed his production chops, both in the studio, and in the live setting, producing for national touring acts over the next decade, while creating original music with GSP, which launched its own underground warehouse space in Boulder, CO in 2004. He housed significant early parties in Colorado with Casa Del Soul, CMKY, Wolf + Lamb, Soulciety, Pretty Lights, STS9, Bassnectar, Glitch Mob, and Euphonic Conceptions debut events. He was also the sole promoter and production coordinator for the album release party for "Taking Up Your Precious Time", the Pretty Lights landmark debut release; a performance which featured the original Pretty Lights configuration of Michal Menert and Derek Vincent Smith.
