Occupy Denver Declares Neutrality On Urban Homeless Ban

Occupy Denver says
If we all stay neutral on things like war and drones and injustice, they won't happen. We certainly wouldn't be responsible. Wouldn't that be great? We could enjoy the benefits of labor exploitation and resource extraction without having to feel like the villains. Outwardly we could help the homeless but at the same time ignore the law that criminalizes homelessness. They'd need us more! We could consider ourselves NEUTRAL and even maybe look good while we do it.

So Occupy Denver declares its neutrality on homelessness. After our discussion with the FAMOUSLY NEUTRAL TATTERED COVER BOOKSTORE, we decided that we can help the homeless too and leave the homeless ban in place. As the city keeps arresting the homeless, there will be fewer of them that we have help. Win win except for the homeless. But who cares, they don't fund activism or buy books.

And no one's going to coerce us to change our minds. We'll behave morally when we want to, not because someone shames us for our selfishness.

But this week's SHARED COMMUNITY MEAL is same time same place, because neutrality doesn't feed anybody.
