The OrganiZation is a modern organ trio. Based in the tradition of the likes of Larry Young, Jimmy Smith, and Jack McDuff, and pulsing to the heartbeat of current musical trends, this is a trio for now! The group consists of Jeff on B3 Organ, Khabu Young on Guitar, and Mike Marlier on Drums. This is a real BAND, playing regularly at Dazzle in Denver, with an extensive book of original material, as well as new takes on standards and rollicking versions on 60's pop tunes.

As a jazz pianist, Jeff has worked with many American jazz legends including: Phil Woods, Freddie Hubbard, David Fathead Newman, Marlena Shaw, Eddie Harris, Richie Cole, Dakota Staton, Bobby Hutcherson, Curtis Fuller, Benny Golson, John Abercrombie, and Clark Terry. He is heard regularly with many groups, including the Ken Walker Sextet, and his organ trio "The Organization"

Jeff is currently teaching at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and for the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts.

Khabu Doug Young, guitarist and composer, recently relocated to Boulder CO after 20 years in New York City as an active musician and teaching artist . He has toured the US, Canada, Europe, and India with renowned musicians such as Art Lande and Paul McCandless. He performed with various groups around NYC with Jacob Sacks, Slog, DYGG, ok|ok, Alec Haavik, Yoon Sun Choi’s E-String Band, New York Mandolin Ensemble, Kendra Shank, and Elliot Sharp in venues such as Sweet Rhythm, 55 Bar, The Stone, The Knitting Factory, Tonic, Barbes, Zebulon, Cornelia St Café, Bar Next Door, Bar4, Detour, and I-Beam Brooklyn. He plays major Jazz and Ukulele festivals abroad and in the US.

Mike Marlier has performed and recorded with countless artists and musicians, including Dave Grusin, Nelson Rangell, Benny Golson, Bobby Shew, Rob Mullins, the Neophonic Jazz Orchestra, Lee Ritenour and Stanley Jordan. He is the staff drummer at the annual Conference on World Affairs held at CU and also at Mile Hi Church in Lakewood. He was the featured drummer at the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert presented by the Gift of Jazz in 2009 and presented a clinic and masterclass at a Gospel Chops seminar in Taipai, Taiwan in 2014. In May he was part of a musical humanitarian outreach at the Ritsona refugee camp in Greece. He maintains a vigorous recording schedule, as well as a private teaching studio, and often can be found adjudicating jazz festivals across the nation.

As a teacher at the Lamont School of Music, he strives to share his vast playing experience with his students, creating a curriculum that is engaging and diverse. Mike is married to Melody Chang, and has two daughters, Britt and Milena, and a grandson, Rilan.
