The event creator says
Come one, Come all!! The time has come once again for us to gather for that magical time of year we like to call the SLAUGHTERHOUSE SLAM. This is a team fundraising event and a $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door, but no one will be turned away.

Here's How it Works:

Each poet entering the slam will pay $10 to slam-- that money will be pooled, and the winner will walk away with EVERYTHING. (Which means: 10 slammers=$100, 15 slammers=$150-- we will not cap the slam list, but we will make a hard cut in the second round to 4 poets).

We will be featuring Denver's newly crowned Youth Poet Laureate:

TOLUWANIMI OBIWOLE is a Nigerian poet, performer, and workshop facilitator based in Denver, Colorado. She is a Brave New Voices international slam champion, a Denver city slam champion, and author of an upcoming chapbook. She has been a member of the Denver Minor Disturbance youth poetry team, and is currently a member of the 2015 Slam Nuba poetry team.

In 2015 she was announced as Denver's first Youth Poet Laureate.

She is currently an Architectural Engineering student at CU Boulder.
