Denver Center for the Performing Arts Off-Center and MCA Denver present:
This is Modern Art
A play by Kevin Coval and Idris Goodwin

One night only: Thursday, Sep 15 @ 7pm
At the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver)
1485 Delgany St, Denver, CO 80202

Graffiti crews are willing to risk everything for their art. Though they are called vandals, criminals, even creative terrorists, graffiti artists set out to make their voices heard and alter the way people view the world. But when one crew finishes the biggest graffiti bomb of their careers, the consequences get serious and spark a public debate asking, "Where does art belong?" Based on true events.

Join DCPA’s Off-Center and the MCA Denver for a one-night-only book launch event with playwrights Kevin Coval and Idris Goodwin. The evening will include a reading from the play This is Modern Art, live spoken-word performances, Q&A session with the authors, before and after music from DJ Chonz, and a rooftop after-party at MCA Café & Bar.

The event on Sep 15 will be a reading and will not be a full production.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students with code STUDENT0915. Tickets are available here: http://bit.ly/timaMCA

Praise for This is Modern Art from the Steppenwolf performance in Chicago:
"Chicago’s most controversial play of the year." –Chicago Magazine

"A raw, visceral narrative that gives graffiti artists the humanity and genius the headlines rob them of." –Newcity Stage

"This is a piece about the overwhelming urge not just to create art, but to get it seen—if only by a scant few before the sandblasters come along." –TimeOut Chicago
