Join us for a fascinating walk down memory lane with celebrated designer Steff Geissbuhler, from design school Switzerland, to teaching and working in Philadelphia and New York, and finally to Hilton Head Island, S.C., where his firm geissbühler:design is thriving.

Geissbuhler is among America’s most celebrated designers of integrated brand and corporate identity programs. His work also includes posters, brochures, books and illustrations. He has also designed architectural graphics and sign systems for various institutions, environmental graphics and exhibitions.

Geissbuhler’s work has been honored with the American Institute of Graphic Arts Medal for his sustained contribution to design excellence and the development of the profession. He is also the recipient of the U.S. Federal Achievement Design Award and several awards from the At Director’s Clubs and the International Poster Biennales. Geissbuhler served as the U.S. president of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and has been a member of the board of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. He is past president of AIGA’s New York chapter and serves on the board.

Geissbuhler received his diploma in graphic design from the School of Art and Design, Basel, Switzerland in 1964. He has taught at the Philadelphia College of Art, Cooper Union, Yale University, School of Visual Arts and lectures throughout the country. Prior to forming his own firm, geissbühler:design, in 2011, he co-founded C&G Partners in 2005. He was at Geigy Pharmaceuticals, Basel; Murphy Levy Wurman Architects, Philadelphia; Anspach Grossman Portugal, New York, and a partner and principal at Chermayeff & Geismar Inc. for over 30 years.

Doors open at 6pm for the social hour. Cash-only bar and free food. Speaker presentation is at 7pm. Parking lot entrance is on 12th. Street parking is available and most meters are free after 6pm. Sales are final with no refunds unless AIGA CO cancels the event. Tickets are transferable, however. Tell a friend to come as you.
