The Denver Press Club says
It’s an important time in the history of the Denver Press Club, where we will decide the future of the club, its programs, events and finances. Note: This election is being conducted at the request of some Denver Press Club members who presented a petition at the June 16 board meeting to hold a special meeting to elect new officers. All officers and directors elected at the last annual meeting of members intend to resign upon the election of their successors or be re-elected at this special meeting.

As the bylaws state, voting must be done in-person at this meeting, so mark your calendars to attend.

Here's a look at your board candidates: http://www.denverpressclub.org/board-nominations

In addition, we will vote on a bylaws amendment to expand voting rights. If the amendment passes, we will immediately extend voting rights to the newly enfranchised members (Retired, Student) in the board election that immediately follows.

The officers include: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, there are seven board of directors seats open. As per the bylaws, all offices are one-year terms. Board meetings are held monthly, and board members must attend in person. Board members must be members in good standing with the Denver Press Club. Descriptions of the officers’ duties can be found in Section VI of the bylaws: http://denverpressclub.org/membership/club-bylaws

If you have any questions about the process, the duties or how you can get involved with the Denver Press Club, whether as a board member or volunteer, feel free to contact Julie at jlucas1016@aol.com.
