*** Welcome To Creative Space *** Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased from here: The Blend is very excited to announce the Denver debut of Mark Slee, with support from Blend Resident Sami and other local artists! Our intention for the evening is to welcome Mark Slee to Denver by building a warm and creative space to host a night of intelligent dance music with live, interactive artwork from several local talented artists and vendors. Many of you are familiar with Mark Slee, for those of you who may not be, please check out his bio and Soundcloud link below. We are looking forward to creating another special night at the Blend, and hope you will help us welcome Mark to Denver with your creative spirit and fun dancefloor energy! We've received a lot of requests to find a larger venue with more room to boogie on the dancefloor and we are happy to announce a new location at The Sidewinder Tavern. The Sidewinder is a cozy little dive bar in North Denver, with a large room attached, and a back patio. We dig this venue and have wanted to create something here for awhile. We think it will be perfect for this event! We will have our dear friend and local favorite, Computer Tutor (Mike Morrissey) joining us to do some interactive visuals as well as Laurie Maves and Meeg Conroy. Meeg will be displaying artwork for sale and Laurie will be doing some live painting for us and will also have artwork for sale. Blend favorite Isaac Carpenter will be painting for us too along with 2 awesome vendors, Sungod Crystals and K.Sass Glasserie. Artist and vendor details and links below. ** MUSIC ** ::: Mark Slee ::: Hailing from San Francisco, Mark Slee is known to wear many creative hats. But two of his all-time favorite fashions are that of DJ and producer. Since co-founding House-Heads in 2008, a collective combining forward-thinking music with a quirky underground vibe, he has gone on to join the Listed Bookings roster and host the monthly mix show Heron Sound on Proton Radio. He is also one half of Manju Masi, a collaboration with long-time partner in crime Atish. Over the course of an obsession with dance music now more than 15 years strong, Slee has evolved a style of deep house that reflects a unique personality, balancing intricate grooves, dreamy textures, and playful whimsical bounce. Blending his technical side with intuition and introspection, he takes an approach that tickles both mind and soul. Slee's sets have taken him far and wide, playing for audiences from Cape Town to Playa del Carmen, from Robot Heart to the Cityfox series in NYC. On the home front, his penchant for diverse and well-crafted warmup sets sees him regularly playing SF's top clubs, opening for DJs like Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, Guy Gerber, Mathew Dekay, Vincenzo, Andre Lodemann, and Hector. Rounding things out are his original productions and remixes, released on Cityfox, Tenampa, 5 and Dime, and Looq. ::: Sami ::: Co-founder of the Blend, Denver, and creative hand of Infinite Space Yoga, Sami's versatile range of sounds and DJ style continues to evolve; encompassing everything from ambient, ethereal chill out vibes to deep, sexy and melodic house, edgier techno and tech-house, and mellow, moody, electronic afterhours sets. Sami had a great time opening for Atish at the Blend last year and is excited to play another extended opening set for Mark Slee. ** ART ** ::: Computer Tutor ::: In our humble opinion, one of the most creative people in Denver, Computer Tutor (Mike Morrissey) is not only an excellent and versatile DJ, but he also does some of the most mind boggling interactive visual effects we've seen. We are excited for what he has planned, it's going to be special and very unique. ::: Laurie Maves ART ::: We are also happy to introduce Laurie Maves to The Blend! Laurie is a talented local artist who will be selling some of her work at this party as well as doing some live painting for us. Check out her website and etsy page. ::: Meeg Conroy ::: Originally from Connecticut, Meeg has been local to the Denver art community since 2012. We are looking forward to having her artwork up on the walls at Sidewinder Tavern. ::: Isaac Carpenter ::: Isaac has been our go-to for live painting at Blend parties for awhile now and we're glad to have back. ** VENDORS ** Sungod Crystals Chad Freeland of SunGod Crystals has just returned from the Tucson gem show and will be at our event selling some gemstones and other goodies. K. Sass Glasserie Kristina Sasser will also be selling some of her beautiful glasswork! Check out her website here:
