“Transcendental”: When I think of abstract art, I think of artists that have a strong sense of realism and the ordinary; however, they use their imagination to transcend us to new worlds.

Mark Goodman is well known for his vibrant paintings of musicians. This show features some of Mark’s earlier abstracts. This body of work was my inspiration for curating this show.

Chris Schranck is a old studio mate of mine and no stranger to The MacSpa. Chris has created part of a permanent collection for The MacSpa and has been part of many art shows I have curated over the years. Chris has created large abstract wall sculptures as well as paintings. The collection of ink and water color images chosen for this exhibit showcase his use of texture and color.

Nick Melliadis is a painter and musician. I met Nick at the last group show at Wazee Union this fall. Nick’s use of color and composition are purely meditative. Nick’s work rounds out this show perfectly.
