Oneita Jackson will be reading from her first book, "Nappy-Headed Negro Syndrome," a nonfiction collection of satires consisting of observations and commentary on life in Detroit.

She is a satirist who has an English degree from Howard University. She came to Detroit from Washington D.C. to work for the the Detroit Free Press, as a blogger and copy edior, wrote music reviews, edited on the Features, Nation/World, and Web desks, and received awards for her headlines.
