If you are interested in and passionate about black history, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) Detroit Branch's history lesson is for you! This month features presenter Evelyn Millstein, who will speak on the Underground Railroad in the South and how it helped 150,000 people achieve their freedom.

General ASALH Detroit meetings are April thru October on the third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm. History lessons are a special treat immediately following the monthly meeting at 7 pm. During the winter months of November through March, meetings take place on the third Sunday at 3 pm.
