Something About Mary & Harambee House

Mary McLeod Bethune was born in Mayesville, South Carolina, the 15th of 17th children. In 1888, Mary McLeod Bethune received a scholarship to Scotia Seminary in North Carolina graduating in 1893, she enrolled at what is now Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Graduating with $1.50, her faith in God, five young pupils, she taught, raised funds, started and ran Daytona Educational and Industrial Training School, now Bethune-Cookman College. MMBAM give scholarships to at Risk Students. Help us Help our At Risk Students. Buy a poster of Mrs Bethune.

MMBAM is supported by its members and a small Legal Clinic, Bethune Legal Clinic, located at MMBAM headquarters, Harambee House, 17191 James Couzens, Detroit, MI 48235-4141, 313-342-7200. Bethune Legal Clinic charges nominal fees for legal work in Family, Real Estate and Probate Law, something that is needed in our community.
