Call For Submissions For Which Phoenix? >< In/Habit Roving Art Series | Detroit Edition says
WHICH PHOENIX? is about resilience.

It will happen during the Allied Media Conference (AMC)
week-end in Detroit, June 16-19 2016. (Exact date to come)

After participating in the Allied Media Conference last year and learning more about issues plaguing Detroit such as food deserts/fast food mega lobby/water issues/expropriation: mostly poor & black people paying for the city's bankruptcy/international division of labor/cheap labor & losing their homes when the city itself went bankrupt... etc.), here's what we got for you:

RESILIENCE. Who survives/against what? Resilience against capitalism vs. resilience of capitalism: "when the phoenix is the corporation", politics of trauma: what does it mean to survive?, also: ashes, ground, alchemy, transformation & survivalism, artists & capitalism/gentrification/their role in the resilience of capitalism, exclusivity & distinction (what criteria?).

As usual, In/habit is looking for performance & performing arts, videos, installations & other visual art (drawings, photos, digital prints, etc).

The curators collaborating for this event are: Rebecca Ladida, Sara Goodman, Sara Heymann & Sara Zalek.
The venue with yard (!) is SPREAD ART, directed by Christina deRoos and Thomas Bell: www.spreadart.org. Check out their residency program and events.
