The Dead Detroit Poet reading series will feature the late Robert Hayden at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 20. The series showcases local poets reading and musicians playing works from Dead Detroit Poets. October features local Detroit writer Anna Clark and poet Michael Lauchlan with music from Adam Fitzgerald.

Anna Clark is a the author of Michigan Literary Luminaries: From Elmore Leonard to Robert Hayden. She is a freelance journalist in Detroit with work appearing in The New York Times, Next City, New Republic, Vanity Fair, the Columbia Journalism Review and more. She is the founder of Literary Detroit and director of applications for Write A House.

Michael Lauchlan recently published a book of poems this past April titled Trumbell Ave. His poems have appeared in various publications including Abandon Automobile and A Mind Apart.

Adam Fitzgerald plays in the local band Shady Groves. He is a Wayne State University English Education graduate as well.

The series will end on Nov. 17 featuring the late Murray Jackson. Local poets Melba Boyd and Vincent Perrone will read and local musicians Doc Waffles and James Linck will perform a selection Jackson poems.
