Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History says
Join in the celebration of The Wright's 50th anniversary with this regular Saturday activity series for the whole family! The classics never go out of style... that’s what makes them classics! Come and enjoy explore the elements of classical music by one of the masters of classical music for kids – Rick Robinson of CutTime Productions - and try your hand at learning some of the classic sounds of music.

Former-Detroit Symphony Orchestra member and Kresge Artist Fellow Rick Robinson is a cultural pioneer. Born into a fourth-generation, African-American musical family of Detroit, this quiet bassist often chose the road-less-traveled to perform, arrange, compose and lead in classical music. Robinson originally developed CutTime ensembles, their catalog and compositions to become new arms for the Detroit Symphony to embrace remote communities. Now he brings the perspective of the anomalous African-American, major-orchestra veteran to bear on truly diversifying classical audiences, free to bend and even break classical tradition to serve humanity and its own legacy.

Free and open to the public. For more information call (313) 494-5800.
