Flag Making Workshop With Chicago Artist In Residence Matthew Nicholas says
Join Chicago Artist in residence, Matthew Nicholas in a participatory workshop surrounding his on-going flag installation project. Each flag bears text acting as a commentary to the challenging social and racial facets of American history. The ideal scope of the project is to reimagine the image of iconography that represents American culture. Flags have been temporarily installed in neighborhoods throughout the city of Chicago as well as being exhibited throughout the Midwest.

Materials will be provided including precut fabrics and markers for creating a message from participants. Following Matthew's residency these messages on fabric will be sewn together and assembled as a large flag representing these thoughts.

Sliding Scale Donation $5-20. No one turned away for lack of funds.
