Please join the Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art (FMCA) for the Contributor's Salon inspired by the new installation of work by Ralph Bacerra, Tom Phardel, Kenneth Price and Peter Voulkos at the DIA.

Please meet at the Loggia entrance of the museum and the group will be escorted to the second floor Contemporary gallery for a private enrichment. The scope of the enrichment will include a conversation with Lauren Bergman, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Assistant Curator and Tom Phardel, artist and Chair of the Ceramics Department at the College for Creative Studies.

10:30 a.m. Group meeting - Loggia Entrance, John R. Street (self parking)

10:40 a.m. Enrichment - Contemporary Gallery (second floor - DIA)

12 noon - 1:30 p.m. Contributor's Luncheon - Founders Junior Council Dining Rooms A & B

FMCA reception with guest of honor, Lauren Bergman, LACMA - Assistant Curator.

The afternoon will continue with a public lecture at 2 pm in the Marvin & Betty Danto Lecture Hall.

Lecture: The Sculpture of Kenneth Price

Lauren Bergman Assistant Curator in the Modern Art Department at LACMA will discuss California-based artist Kenneth Price, a revolutionary who transformed and redefined traditional ceramics into highly original sculptural clay forms. Bergman collaborated with staff and Price on the retrospective of his work Ken Price Sculpture: A Retrospective organized by LACMA in 2012.
