Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History says
In partnership with MSU Extension, The Wright Museum will host a variety of scientists who will demonstrate their science in exciting ways! This daylong event is FREE and open to the public, and includes the following:

1 - 5 PM: "Inspiring Minds: African Americans in Science & Technology" - The Wright's latest permanent exhibition highlights trailblazers, contemporaries and careers in the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics

1 - 2 PM: The 48217 Project presented by research students from Henry Ford Academy - School for Creative Studies.

1 - 2 PM & 3 - 4 PM: What's in YOUR Water? Unraveling the Great Blue Mystery - See what's hidden in our water by using biology and chemistry with Michigan's Department of Natural Resources.

1 - 2 PM & 3 - 4 PM: Create a Critter - For ages 6 - 9 years old, this presentation features presenters from the DAPCEP Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program Team who will help participants use engineering concepts and materials to create a "critter" with movable parts.

1 - 2 PM & 4 - 5 PM: Do It Yourself Science - Do science with the SMART Center and Dr. Reef Morse.

2 - 3 PM: Andrew Humphrey's Wonderful World of Weather and Science - Learn about meteorology and forecasting weather from WDIV's own Andrew Humphrey!

2 - 3 PM: Genomics - Why Are We The Way We Are? Presented by CREATE for STEM.

2 - 3 PM & 4 - 5 PM: Straw Bridges - For ages 11 and up, participants will build a beam bridge with help from he DAPCEP Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program Team.

3 - 4 PM: Research on Belle Isle presented by research students from Henry Ford Academy - School for Creative Studies.

3 - 4 PM: Unsung Scientists - African American Contributors to Science presented by Sibrina N. Collins, Ph.D., director of education for the Charles H. Wright Museum.
