It's getting pretty cold, and there is a 60% rain in the forecast for Monday Oct. 5th. I've scheduled Ojibway, because I know we can get warm, and have access to washrooms. We can also sketch inside. There are some great windows on the north side that look out at bird feeders.

Time to layer up!
SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO BRING
(Tailor this list to suit your needs.)

For your personal comfort:
It's getting cold dress warmer!
EAR MUFFS! (well maybe not yet)
NECK SCARF! Yes, I think this is a good idea.
WINTER HAT!
GLOVES!
Warm socks
Warm shoes or Boots
Warm wind/rain proof coat
Hand and toe warmers.
Snack & Water

For the sake of art:
Camera
folding chair
Plein Air easel
Plein air pochade box
Drawing board
Paint and drawing supplies of your choice

Your drawing supplies can be as little as a pencil, pad and sharpener or as elaborate as a full french easel box of oils and canvases. If you are just starting out, we suggest starting small.

I don't know if we can sketch inside until we get there, so don't count on being able to do that. If there are school tours we will be underfoot as sometimes they do their scavenger hunts inside the nature centre.

If we are able to sketch indoors there are some restrictions. There can be no "trip hazards." Therefore, no easels or equipment on the floor. You can bring in a chair to sit on. They do have a sitting area that looks out at bird feeders, a pond, and the woods.

If you are painting inside the Nature Centre, we suggest that you treat this as a sketching opportunity rather than a full fledged painting event. Bring sketchbooks, coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, and anything that you can safely confine to your lap.

Of course, if you wish to work outside you may bring all your gear. The washrooms are available.

I'm open to suggestions for other cold or rain friendly locations where there is painting potential. Keep in mind that we can not schedule private property.

We are looking forward to seeing you Monday.
