Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History says
Presented by The Rosa & Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development in partnership with The Wright Museum is a free screening of “The Loving Story." It tells the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, the history and the current state of interracial marriage and tolerance in the United States. Helping to change the course of history, the “Lovings,” were a mixed-race couple from rural Virginia, whose court case eventually overturned the last remaining miscegenation laws in the U.S. and in turn, helped change the course of history.

Free and open to the public. For more information call (313) 494-5800.

This program is made possible by a grant from the Bridging Cultures initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities and with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to encourage public conversations about the changing meanings of freedom and equality in America.
