First Unitarian-Universalist Church of Detroit says
On March 25, 1965, Detroit housewife, Wayne State student, and First Church member Viola Liuzzo was murdered by Klansmen in Alabama after going South to aid the civil rights marches from Selma to Montgomery. She was the only white woman to give her life in the civil rights movement.

50 years later, what can we learn from Liuzzo's sacrifice, and where are we called today in the continuing struggle for racial and economic justice?

All are welcome to a screening of the Viola Liuzzo documentary "Home of the Brave, followed by a community discussion.
