If you've been looking for an excuse to swap Netflix for a night at the theatre, Durban’s about to hand it to you.
One of Durban's longest-running and most colourful productions, Shall We Dance, returns to The Playhouse Opera for five performances from 11 to 13 September.
You can look forward to a whirlwind of sequins, soaring music, spectacular choreography, and enough energy to keep you tapping your toes until the final curtain call.
More than just ballroom
Fiery Latin, elegant ballroom, and crowd-pleasing favourites… Shall We Dance is a celebration of movement in all its forms.
Created by renowned dance professionals Caryl Cusens and Neville Letard, and presented by the South African Dance Teachers Association in association with The Playhouse Company, Shall We Dance has become a fixture on Durban's entertainment calendar.
More than 100 amateur dancers from across Durban will take to the stage, showcasing over 10 different dance styles in a vibrant production packed with dazzling costumes and impressive production value.
Adding an extra touch of glamour are acclaimed international dancers Egor Kondratenko and Mie Lincke Funch, who return to the Playhouse stage after captivating audiences last year.
Representing Denmark, the pair arrive fresh from competing across Europe and Asia, where they've already secured impressive results this season, including 5th place in Denmark and 3rd in Vietnam.
Before heading back onto the international circuit for the Grand Slam and German Opens, they'll showcase their breathtaking Latin American routines in Durban.
