Got your tickets for one of cricket’s biggest rivalries?
If not, there’s still time!
South Africa goes head-to-head with rivals Australia on Thursday, 24 September, for the Dafabet ODI at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.
Besides your tickets, there are a few other list items you might want to pack before you head to the stadium – and some things you should leave at home.

What you can take into Kingsmead
- Mobile phones
- Wallets and car keys
- Sunglasses
- Hats or caps
- Sealed bottles of water
- Sealed dry snacks, such as crisps, nuts, biscuits or energy bars
- A soft lunch bag containing permitted food and drink
- A small, foldable non-branded umbrella, provided it has no pointed tip
- A normal phone camera
- A collapsible deck or camping chair, but only if you have a valid deck-chair ticket
What you can’t bring into Kingsmead
- Alcohol of any kind
- Soft drinks, juice or energy drinks
- Cans
- Glass bottles or containers
- Takeaway or homemade meals
- Hard or polystyrene cooler boxes
- Braais, gas burners or cooking equipment
- Knives or other sharp objects
- Firearms or other weapons
- Fireworks, flares or smoke bombs
- Aerosol cans, pepper spray or mace
- Vuvuzelas, air horns or other noise-making devices
- Musical instruments
- Cricket, rugby, soccer or other sporting equipment
- Bicycles, scooters or skateboards
- Large, golf or beach umbrellas
- Umbrellas with pointed tips
- Pets, except permitted service animals
- Professional cameras or video-recording equipment unless accredited or authorised
- Merchandise intended for sale or distribution inside the stadium
- Items that could cause disruption or constitute ambush marketing

A few things to remember
- All bags and belongings are subject to security searches at the entrance, so give yourself enough time to get through the gates.
- If you have a special dietary or medical requirement that means you need to bring specific food or medication into the stadium, take supporting documentation with you.
- Parking is available at the Centrum at R50 per car. Parking tickets can be purchased when buying your match ticket.
The rules can vary depending on the event, so check the conditions attached to your match ticket before match day.
Dress for Heritage Day…and win!
This is Heritage Day, so there’s an extra reason to make an effort with your outfit.
Wear your Proteas colours with pride, or come dressed to celebrate your heritage. There’s R10 000 up for grabs for the best-dressed spectator, with R5 000 for second place, and R2 500 for third.
