What’s on in Durban

The beloved classic Sister Act is set to light up the stage at Playhouse Company this July. The musical follows singer Deloris Carter, who is forced into hiding in a convent after witnessing a mob-related murder.

Out of her element but determined to make the best of her situation, Deloris is tasked with transforming the convent’s struggling choir. What unfolds is a heartwarming and hilarious journey filled with uplifting music, unexpected friendships and sisterhood.

For those without Father’s Day plans or simply seeking a day immersed in nature, the Old Mutual Music at the Lake series returns to the Durban Botanic Gardens, with Mi Casa and Lordkez hitting the stage on 21 June.

All proceeds from the performances will support the Garden Window Project, an innovative initiative focused on people and plant development within the Durban Botanic Gardens.

Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival

One day filled with award-winning wines, exquisite cuisine, and vibrant live entertainment awaits at the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival, making its way to Durban for a single day on 3 October at Chris Saunders Park.

South Africa’s longest-running triathlon series returns to the Golden Mile on 8 November, giving athletes the opportunity to swim, bike, and run their way to victory.

From the adrenaline-packed Sprint and Mini Tri to the longer Challenge distance, there is a race for everyone. Kids can get involved too, with entry open from 8 years old. Race day registration will take place at Suncoast Sundeck from 5:45 am to 7 am.

Running from this December to 10 January 2027, this enchanting production stars Roshanda Lewis as Cinderella and William Young as the Prince, as they embark on a magical journey in search of true love.
