What’s on in Durban

TEEKS

New Zealand's celebrated Maori singer-songwriter TEEKS is coming to Durban for one night only on 28 August at The Station. Known around the world for emotionally raw ballads including First Time, Without You, and Remember Me, TEEKS has built a devoted following in South Africa.

Tickets range from R496 and R695 via Webtickets.

Shimza and Friends is back at the Durban Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 5 September.

The South African DJ will be joined by Sun-El Musician, Oskido, Kabza De Small, and other top local artists. Prepare for a high-energy evening packed with great music and a feel-good atmosphere.

Tickets are selling out fast, so act quickly to avoid disappointment.

One of Durban's longest-running and most vibrant productions, Shall We Dance, returns to The Playhouse Opera from 11 to 13 September.

Showcasing over 10 dance styles, more than 100 amateur dancers from across Durban will take to the stage in a vibrant production featuring dazzling costumes, skill, and precision.

Midlands Ultra Triathlon 2026

Taking place on Sunday, 13 September, at Midmar Dam, the legendary Midlands Ultra Triathlon returns. Set against rolling hills, panoramic dam views and crisp country air, the race is a true test of endurance and strength.

With two distances on offer, the event caters to both experienced competitors and developing athletes.

We have the Springboks, the Proteas, Bafana Bafana and now, Bafunny Bafunny, South Africa’s national comedy team, captained by none other than Trevor Noah.

Taking place at Suncoast Casino on 19 September, Bafunny promises an evening of proudly South African comedy, featuring some of the country’s top stand-up comedians, including Eugene Khoza, Lindy Johnson, Mbali Gudazi and more.

Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival

One day filled with award-winning wines, exquisite cuisine, and vibrant live entertainment awaits at the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival, making its way to Durban for a single day on 3 October at Chris Saunders Park.

Featuring 35 wine stands, each ticket holder will receive 20 wine tasting tokens along with a tasting glass upon entry. For those who prefer not to indulge in alcohol, Designated Driver tickets are available and do not grant access to any alcohol tastings or purchases.

For the very first time, Amapiano Fest is coming to Durban on 3 October at the Durban Botanic Gardens. Expect a line-up featuring some of the hottest Amapiano and Gqom local artists.

Gates open at 11:30 am  with the first performance hitting the stage at 12pm.

  • Sport and fitness

South Africa’s longest-running triathlon series returns to the Golden Mile on 8 November, giving athletes the opportunity to swim, bike, and run their way to victory.

From the adrenaline-packed Sprint and Mini Tri to the longer Challenge distance, there is a race for everyone. Kids can get involved too, with entry open from 8 years old. Race day registration will take place at Suncoast Sundeck from 5:45 am to 7 am.

With an all-star local cast, directed by Bryan Hiles and featuring choreography by Evashnee Pillay, everyone’s favourite fairytale, Cinderella, comes to life on the stage of the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre.

Running from this December to 10 January 2027, this enchanting production stars Roshanda Lewis as Cinderella and William Young as the Prince, as they embark on a magical journey in search of true love.
