BrewDog announce coffee bar plans for Edinburgh

The beer-making punks at BrewDog have revealed they’re experimenting with another form of brew – by opening their first ever coffee bar in Edinburgh.

Billed as an artisan coffee and beer bar, the Newington Fix will open up on South Clerk Street.

High-quality coffee will be on sale during the day, with craft beer also available later on. The site will become their second bar in the city, alongside their Cowgate outlet which opened four years ago.

The new location has already been purchased and they’re currently waiting on a licence before they can start converting the former Planet X bike shop.

It’s not the only new BrewDog venture coming to Edinburgh – earlier this year they announced plans for their second ever BottleDog on Dundas Street. This is expected to open later this month and, although no date has been confirmed yet, BrewDog said the site is ‘shaping up nicely’.
