Located on Kakolanmäki in Turku, Bageri Å is a bakery and café that has become a phenomenon. Everything here is done with genuine care, from the design of the pastry boxes to the baking itself. The spot is known for its sourdough bread, croissants and buns. The interior is stylish yet cosy, with wide window seats that are perfect for lingering. The café shares its space with the neighbouring Frukt Coffee Roasters, serving award-winning coffee roasted right here in Kakola.
Finland’s only croissant box and an in-house stone mill guarantee the most addictive pastries in Turku
Bageri Å is Finland’s first artisan bakery with its own stone mill. Half the flour is milled on-site, so it is guaranteed to be fresh. Another visible speciality is the croissant box, a space cooled to 16 degrees built specifically for baking croissants. Unique in Finland and rare globally, this space makes it possible to bake truly perfect croissants. You can watch the baking process through a glass window from the café. All products are baked using sourdough with two different starters. The rye starter is used for archipelago bread and ring-shaped rye loaves, while the wheat starter is used for other products. Many consider Bageri Å’s archipelago bread to be superior.
Bageri Å also has a stall in Turku Market Hall, where you can find a good cross-section of the bakery’s products. The hall location also serves breakfast based on the company’s own baked goods.
