Time Out says

When the opportunity presented itself to visit Maui, I immediately launched into a steady daydream loop of myself in this far-away, fantasyland without a care in the world. I pictured myself arriving in paradise, getting lei’d, donning all floral ‘fits while gazing longingly out at the most picturesque backdrop, acting like a well-to-do cast member from White Lotus. And what did I get? Well, more or less, exactly that. (In this case, the journey as a scrunched-up passenger in an outdated economy seat with a screaming baby one row ahead of me did not count as much as the destination.)  From the moment I stepped foot on Maui, you’d surely mistake me for a lady of leisure (who flew first-class) and was ready to get her vacation on.

After landing at Kahului Airport in Maui, it was time for a 30-minute drive to Wailea Beach. Simply put: it oozes with luxury. Think beautiful homes, lush landscapes, sweeping views, and the crème de la crème of hotels, including Wailea Beach Resort.

Why stay at Wailea Beach Resort?

Wailea Beach Resort truly offers something for everybody—from couples looking for a romantic escape to families trying to accommodate travelers of all ages, plus adventure-seekers and nature-lovers alike. Whether your vacation goals include acting like a big kid, entertaining little kids, or avoiding kids altogether, Wailea Beach has got you covered.

It’s a real ‘choose your own adventure’ type of resort, with plenty of daily activities and offerings to delight the traveler who simply can’t sit still, as well as those who want to do nothing but sit still and relax.

Looking to immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture? Take a lei-making class.

Need to stretch your limbs after a long flight? Opt for sunrise yoga.

Want to dive into something a little different? Scuba classes await.

You get the gist.

What are the rooms like at Wailea Beach Resort?

There are two standout features of the rooms at Wailea Beach Resort: their spaciousness and the breathtaking views. The rooms could swallow an entire New York City apartment whole, and they give you all the space you need to spread out, unpack (even my slightly unhinged amount of belongings), kick your feet up and lounge. They’re clean, comfortable and recently renovated—because we can’t be skimping out on accommodations around here.

But the real showstopper is what lies just beyond your room: unobstructed views of the ocean’s edge and the so-gorgeous-it-almost-looks-fake Maui backdrop in the distance. Spacious balconies provide the perfect setting to sit back and take it all in with a sense of disbelief.

What are the best bites and restaurants at Wailea Beach Resort?

Let me start by saying you will not go hungry at Wailea Beach Resort, nor will you tire of the food options. They’ve got offerings ranging from full sit-down meals to poolside bites and signature food trucks to coffee shops. There’s something to fit the bill, no matter the craving.

Humble Market Kitchin is the spot for breakfast with a view—and a twist. They’re doing things differently with items like lilikoi mochi waffles and their famous coconut macadamia nut pancakes. This place also turns its act around by dinnertime, serving up elevated dishes in a feel-good setting.

If you’re more of a grab-and-go person in the morning, Whale’s Tale offers cold-pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls and coffees as close to the water’s edge as humanly possible.

Hot take: My favorite lunch on property came from none other than a food truck called Mo’ Bettah. Go for their loaded tuna poke bowl and thank me later.

What are the amenities like at Wailea Beach Resort?

You know those vacations where someone always has to wake up early to reserve spots at the pool and then it’s still a gamble and your whole family may end up like Russian stacking dolls on one shared lounge chair? Well, that’s never going to happen at Wailea Beach Resort. With four different pools to choose from, you’ll never have to fight for a spot. There are kid-friendly pools, adults-only pools, and even ones equipped with splash zones. Plus, you’ll find Hawaii’s longest resort waterslide—if you’re looking for a thrill. My personal favorite? The infinity-edge pool is sprinkled with floating overwater cabanas and offers views of the Pacific. Shocker, I know.

Now, if you really want to lean into your vacation Zen, I suggest you splurge on the Olakino Wellness experience, which is an exclusive, adults-only wellness sanctuary with poolside spa treatments, wellness workshops, healthy bites and views for days.

What is the service like at Wailea Beach Resort?

Every single person I interacted with at Wailea Beach Resort made me feel right at home. The staff was welcoming, from the second I arrived and was greeted with a fresh juice and my first lei, through to the very end. Everyone called me by name, which is no small feat, given the number of guests they serve daily. I mean, I know I’m memorable, but this was celebrity status.

There’s also an immense sense of pride amongst the team. Whether I was talking to a Hawaii native or someone who moved to Maui after falling in love with the island, you can tell they wanted to share their joy and make sure you fell in love with it too.

What is the area like at Wailea Beach Resort?

Let’s just say nobody’s slumming it around here. At Wailea Beach, you’re surrounded by some of the most world-renowned resorts, and from the looks of the travelers getting their steps in by the beach or hitting the water for an early morning activity, it’s the upper echelon. If you’re someone who craves R&R, you can easily spend a week without ever stepping foot off Wailea Beach. If you’re itching to explore, you’re just a short drive away from town or a 5-minute walk from the Shops at Wailea, which offers up a slew of restaurants, retail and more. It’s also worth noting that the resort offers a complimentary car service to take you anywhere in Wailea, within 3 miles of the property.

Why should you book a stay at Wailea Beach Resort?

If you’re looking to treat yourself to a getaway that offers luxury, relaxation, adventure and indulgence all wrapped up in one approachable package, Wailea Beach Resort is it. The setting is unmatched, and you’ll find yourself ooh-ing and ahh-ing at every turn, wondering how you’re supposed to reintegrate into society after acclimating to this life.  You’ll be treated like royalty despite the fact that there’s zero pretension here. Whether you choose to make Wailea Beach your playground or your resting ground for a few days, you’re guaranteed to come back refreshed, rejuvenated, and likely ready for round two.
