How about a Mongolian jazz singer? A magic show? Spinal Tap–style heavy music? Disney on Ice? There’s plenty going on in Helsinki this February. And beyond the picks below, there’s loads more happening all month. It’s a great time to revisit the recently renovated swimming hall on Yrjönkatu, and throughout February you can catch a multimedia Genesis installation in Kallio Church.

On 13 February, HAM opens its newly refreshed Tove Jansson Gallery with an exhibition that also highlights Tove’s parents and siblings as artists in their own right.

Or maybe you’d fancy some modern opera? At the turn of the month, the National Opera premiered Morgonstjärnan – Aamutähti, an opera based on a story by Karl Ove Knausgård. The music is by Sebastian Fagerlund, one of the most celebrated composers of his generation.

DocPoint Film Festival

DocPoint brings some of the world’s best documentaries to Helsinki’s curious and inspired audiences. Once again there are so many fascinating screenings that making a choice might feel impossible. But don’t worry! You could pick a film based on your horoscope — or simply decide to watch anything showing at the gorgeous, art-deco Orion cinema, one of Helsinki’s oldest movie venues.

Helsinki Flamenco Festival: Desplante – Eduardo Guerrero

HMS – Helsinki Magic Show

Europe’s largest magic club returns for its fourth season at On The Rocs. The February show features Austrian magician Wolfgang Moser along with Finnish performers Herra Koskinen, JP Pirinen and Taija Taika. The performance begins at 19:00, but it’s worth arriving early as the magicians roam around the tables before the main show, performing sleight-of-hand up close.

12 Feb, On The Rocs

Aaron Parks & UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra

Celebrated jazz pianist and composer Aaron Parks appears as soloist with the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra at the Savoy Theatre. The concert is part of UMO’s 50th anniversary season.

12 Feb, Savoy Theatre

Premiere: Wuthering Heights

This is one of the most talked-about films of early 2026 - and with good reason. Wuthering Heights makes its Finnish premiere on 13 February. With a steamy, pop-aesthetic trailer, it has already divided opinion among fans and critics alike - not least for its casting of Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

13 Feb, cinemas

Valentine’s Day

On Valentine’s Day, 14 Feb, there’s all kinds of special programming around the city - from stand-up comedy to a Finnish funk legend.

14 Feb, various venues

Dire Straits Experience

Tribute bands might be a matter of opinion, but Dire Straits? Now that’s another story. Few wouldn’t give a pinky to see Mark Knopfler and the real band back on stage. Since that’s not an option, the Dire Straits Experience - featuring Chris White on saxophone, who toured with the original band - is about as good as it gets. Expect beautiful solos on both guitar and sax. Is there anything more relaxing than an evening of Dire Straits music?

17 Feb, Kulttuuritalo

Katarina Barruk, Hildá Länsman and the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra

Glorious orchestral music meets traditional Sámi singing as vocalists Katarina Barruk and Hildá Länsman take to the stage at Musiikkitalo alongside the Norrlandsoperan Symphony Orchestra.

18 Feb, Musiikkitalo

Igorrr

How many R’s are in that name anyway? Igorrr is a French metal oddity led by the brilliant Gautier Serre, who fearlessly blends multiple music styles — from metal subgenres to baroque, trip hop and eastern rhythms. That adventurous spirit is very much on display in this show.

18 Feb, Kulttuuritalo

21 Feb, Savoy Theatre

Tyrantti

What’s going on here? Is this Finland’s answer to Spinal Tap? At least there’s plenty of pure rock energy to go around, starting with the band’s name itself. Their songs are raunchy and ironical, and the ferocious guitars roar like it’s the end of days. According to legend, one stormy night in February 2026 three figures met in a bar with only two goals: drink beer and form a bloody good heavy band. At least one of those goals succeeded. Tyrantti celebrates ten years with a gig at KULT Club.

21 Feb, KULT

Jinjer

Modern metal heavyweights Jinjer return to Finland in February 2026. Known for relentless touring, boundary-pushing releases and critical acclaim, this Ukrainian sensation takes over Kulttuuritalo. Lisa Nilsson

Swedish star Lisa Nilsson made a celebrated comeback last year with her album Uteblivna Vi. At the Savoy Theatre, she presents her shift from pop toward jazz-tinged sounds, sharing how making music has finally taken precedence over the role of performer. 27 Feb, KULT

Classic Rock Tour

The hugely popular The Classic Rock Show returns to Finland for a third year running - and it’s easy to see why. Talented musicians perform rock classics from Led Zeppelin to Queen in a way that’s perhaps a little clichéd but undeniably fun. As the band themselves put it: in classical music, orchestras play the classics - and The Classic Rock Show does the same for rock. It’s quickly becoming an annual tradition for lovers of classic rock.
