Kinetic Ensemble: "Paysages" says
Houston’s newest addition to the classical music scene, and the city’s first conductorless orchestra, KINETIC, presents the second concert of their inaugural season, in a program titled “Paysages.” This event is FREE and open to the public. Joining KINETIC will be guest artist and award-winning pianist, Scott Cuellar.

Named after the program’s focal work, “Paysages” has been curated to evoke images of landscape, season and geography in musical form, and features seldom performed works by twentieth century composers, Ernest Bloch, Eugène Ysaÿe and John Ireland. This program aligns with KINETIC’s artistic goals to give platform to under-represented works in the classical repertoire, including premiering works by living composers, and to unite the intimacy of chamber music with the force of orchestra through their uniquely conductorless format.

John Ireland: Concertino Pastorale (1939)
Ernest Bloch: Paysages for String Quartet (1925)
Eugène Ysaÿe: Exil, op. 25 (1917)
Ernest Bloch: Concerto Grosso No. 1 for String Orchestra with Piano Obbligato (1925)

KINETIC is a fresh new conductorless orchestra based in Houston, comprised of sixteen string players and led by violinist, Natalie Lin. With tangible communicative force, KINETIC strengthens Houston communities by creating interactive musical dialogues among performers and audiences alike. KINETIC’s vision is to establish a unique musical presence in Houston that inspires enthusiasm for classical music among new audience.
