Meet the Maker of Brooks Wines

Not often do we come across a New World wine that knocks our socks off like those from the Brooks family of wines. Our general gravitation towards mineral driven, terroir focused wines from Europe has been fittingly met with this fantastic winery from Willamette Valley. These wines, which have developed a cult following amongst them, are beloved by many of the sommeliers and wine aficionados in our great city and we fully expect them to gain world-wide notoriety. The wines were the focus of a feature length documentary, out last year, entitled 'American Wine'. This feature documentary explores the transformative power of a humble beverage to fuel passion and reshape lives.

Brooks' philosophy seeks a natural balance in the vineyard and the cellar.

They believe that organic and biodynamic farming not only creates better wine, but also show the truest expression of terroir, keeping the earth alive and intact. Brooks works with Pinot Noir and Riesling varietals which they believe are best expressed in the cool climate of Oregon's Willamette Valley. After Jimi Brooks suddenly passed away in 2004, the winery fell to the hands of his 8-year-old son, making him the youngest winery owner in the world. Of course, being too young to make wine, Brooks hired Chris Williams as full-time winemaker. Williams has been a longtime family friend and assistant winemaker for years.

Join us as Williams will be pouring his favorite wines on Thursday, April 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. $13 per person. No reservation necessary
