Mark Maynard-Parisi is Creator/Managing Partner at Porchlight, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG)’s first stand-alone cocktail bar, located in New York’s West Chelsea. Mark, a 22-year veteran of USHG, together with the group’s CEO, Danny Meyer, conceptualized and designed Porchlight, a New York bar with a Southern accent.

Mark is responsible for its strategic direction and all day-to-day operations. He continues his duties as Blue Smoke Enterprises’s Co-Founder and Senior Managing Partner. As the founding General Manager of Blue Smoke and Jazz Standard in the Flatiron District, Mark has led virtually every aspect of the restaurants, jazz club and catering company, helping to build them from concept to reality and overseeing operations.

Kate Gerwin is a Certified Sommelier from the International Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators, a has passed the level one certification for the Certified Cicerone Program She is one of few who holds an Expert Diplome es Vins de Bordeaux awarded by the Consiel Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux.

Kate has consulted for and worked with over 27 restaurants and bars during her career. Kate’s cocktail programs have received a multitude of both local and national awards and she loves compete. She has competed in national and international bartending competitions winning a multitude of championships. She is now operating a multi venue operation in North Dakota for HSL Hospitality and is changing the way a small market views food and beverage."
