Leisure and Beyond

After two very heavy subject topics (one dealing with old age and the other with battered women), Etti Chechover is switching gears in her latest exhibition that focuses on "Nothing." She interprets nothing as the time when "commitment, responsibility, and action become secondary to tormentous daily routine." Leisure and Beyond is inspired by newspapers, celebrity leisure magazines, street photography, and of course, leisure paintings by Renoir, Degas, Pissarro, and others – an intriguing multi-layered exhibit at the Zadik gallery this summer.
