Esteemed Israeli artist and political activist showcases paintings at Gordon Gallery
Known for his dozens of one-man and group exhibitions as well as his controversial political speeches, Yair Garbuz is an influential author, educator, media figure, witty satirist, and painter. He was an art professor at a number of schools across Israel and a 12-year director of the Beit Berl College art school, inspiring generations of artists, all while writing several of his own books and developing his own work. Always packed with political reflection and self-parody, his images create clever and engaging social commentary. Enjoy a poetic experience of what critics have explained to be deeply representational of what Israel could have been, cannot be, and would like to be.
