Time Out says
Rump steak served on deep fried bread? Heaven? Or heart attack? Or heavenly heart attack?
Just because they’re the new kid on the block doesn’t mean they’re not a force to be reckoned with. This new hot spot is serving up scrumptious rump steak sandwiches, need I say more? I must because that’s just the start. What makes them unique is the special deep fried bread they use called Zalabia. This cloud of carby goodness is fixed with all the works, hand carved rump steak, an aioli like you’ve never tasted before, arugula and cheese. The only way to understand just how special this steak sandwich is is to experience one for yourself. The perfect shuk snack.

Ecstasy on Bun is the only way to describe this culinary masterpiece. The taste of the bread explodes in your mouth like a gift from heaven. I'm from Nebraska, where eating steak is a religious experience. The meat in this sandwich is by far the best I've tasted. The combination of the meat, the bread, the cheese and the homemade Aioli is a flavor tour de force.
If you find yourself in Shuk Ha Carmel on a Friday, DON"T miss this amazing experience. Having only one of these delights isn't enough.
This sandwich was exceptiional. Being vegan was surprised that I had the option to chose a non meat sandwich, which was out of this world. My husband on the other hand is a meat eater he was raving about his meat sandwich. The quality and taste of this wonderful concoction was worth every bite and calorie that I ate. Well done to the chef!!!! Well done Zalabia!!!!
