Joburg travellers will soon have a new way to reach Zimbabwe’s capital, with Airlink launching direct flights between Lanseria International Airport and Harare from 15 November 2026.

The new route will operate three times a week and marks both the first scheduled airline service between Lanseria and Harare and Airlink’s first scheduled route from the privately owned Johannesburg airport.

Flights will be operated on a 98-seat Embraer E190, with six Business Class and 92 Economy seats – and no middle seats.

The Lanseria service will complement its existing flights from OR Tambo and offer a more convenient option for travellers based in Western Gauteng and North West.

Airlink says Johannesburg–Harare is one of Southern Africa’s busiest routes, averaging around 60,000 seats a month in 2025. They currently operates 40 return flights a week from OR Tambo and four a week from Cape Town.

Airlink Lanseria flight schedule:

  • From Lanseria, flights depart at 7am on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Harare at 8.40am.
  • Return flights leave Harare at 5.45pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, landing at Lanseria at 7.25pm.

Bookings are now open at flyairlink.com
