If you’ve ever had to apply for a job, you’ll know how quickly the process can become frustrating, from typing up a CV to finding a place to print, email or even fax documents.

Without reliable access to a computer or the internet, what should be simple can turn into a full-day task.

In Alexandra, where many residents juggle these challenges daily, access to basic admin services isn’t always guaranteed, despite being right next to some of Joburg’s biggest economic hubs.

That’s why news that Alex Mall is set to welcome a new store focused on these essential services is likely to be met with optimism.

The mall took to Facebook on Tuesday to tease the upcoming addition, hinting at a space where customers can handle everyday admin alongside their usual shopping.

Although it has not officially revealed the name of the new store, it has invited customers to take a guess. However, it shared enough detail and visuals for many to speculate that the incoming store could be PostNet.

In its teaser, Alex Mall indicated that the new store will focus on services such as emailing, faxing, internet access, packaging, and more. The brand colours, red and yellow, have also led many to associate the new store with PostNet.

PostNet is known for offering copy and printing services, courier solutions, and a range of stationery products. It also adds significant convenience by providing services such as criminal record checks for those entering business or employment processes. In some branches, customers can also certify documents.

This means shoppers can complete their retail errands and conveniently access essential administrative services in one place. Additionally, through its partnership with HURU, PostNet allows customers to check their credit reports.

In a community where access to reliable internet, computers and administrative services can be limited, this kind of addition is more than just convenient, it’s practical. And if the speculation proves true, it could quietly become one of the most useful stops in the mall.
