It’s travel season, and Johannesburg’s airport, Lanseria, is expanding its operations to make exploring South Africa easier than ever.
Joburgers wanting a seaside escape, visiting loved ones, or travelling for business to Gqeberha have a new option—Lanseria has added new flights to take them to their desired destination.
The airport, a favourite among Joburgers for its convenience and efficiency, now connects travellers to Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth) in the Eastern Cape. The new flights to the Eastern Cape are a first for the airline. Previously, those wanting to fly from Johannesburg to the Eastern Cape could only use the OR Tambo International Airport.
"We’re thrilled to be adding these new routes to the Eastern Cape from Lanseria, which were previously only accessible to travellers in Johannesburg via OR Tambo airport," said Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair, in a statement.
"This expansion is part of our ongoing mission to connect more South Africans to the places and people they love, while maintaining our promise of affordable fares and reliable service,” said Gordon.
The exciting announcement was made on Monday, just in time for South Africans and others around the world to start planning for the festive season.
Travellers can book their flights starting November 1. The ticket flights start from R770.
We’ll soon be flying from Lanseria to East London and P.E. (Gqeberha)! Ticket sales are open with flights taking off from 1 Nov, just in time for the summer rush. Whether it’s for work or holiday, these Eastern Cape gems are calling!
