Get ready for a great night of music this May, the emperor of Bhajans is coming to the City of Gold.

Bhajan and ghazal music lovers are in for a treat this May as the legendary Anup Jalota prepares to grace Johannesburg with a special live performance.
The internationally acclaimed Indian singer will be performing at Emperors Palace on 24 May, taking to the Centre Court stage. His upcoming show, titled A Tribute to the Legends by Anup Jalota, promises an evening of great music.
According to the announcement shared by Emperors Palace on social media, Jalota will not be performing alone. He will be joined by a talented ensemble of musicians, including Mr Dhiren Raichura on guitar, Mr Mahesh Rao on violin, and Mr Amith Choubey on Tabla, ensuring a rich and immersive musical experience.
Widely known as the “Emperor of Bhajans,” Jalota has built a remarkable career spanning decades, captivating audiences worldwide with ghazal performances. His music has transcended cultural boundaries, earning him a loyal international following.
This Johannesburg performance comes shortly after his recent shows in London, further highlighting his continued global appeal. Over the years, Jalota has received numerous accolades for his contributions to Indian music. In 2012, he was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. He was also awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award by the President of India in 2020.
Born in 1953, Jalota has cemented his legacy as one of the most influential voices in bhajan and ghazal music. Some of his most beloved songs include Aisi Lagi Lagan, among many others that continue to resonate with fans worldwide.
