Kwaito musician and producer Arthur Mafokate is known for making hits that have influenced the South African sound.
The veteran musician has produced many local stars who have now grown to be big shots in the music industry.
He has also collaborated with the likes of multi-award-winning singer Kelly Khumalo.
Arthur's passion for building up young artists continues.
The King of Kwaito will be empowering young musicians at The Share Online Music Awards.
The awards ceremony will be taking place at the iconic Soweto Theatre this weekend, 24 May, from 2pm until 7pm.
It will feature live performances from many new local artists.
“The aim and vision of the event is to uplift local artists. Other awards ceremonies cater to known artists, but no one looks at upcoming artists, hence you see a lot of upcoming artists leaving their craft for a 9-5 job because they are not recognised,” Noluthando Nondalana, the founder of The Share Online Music Awards, told Time Out Johannesburg.
“We also aim to uplift local upcoming artists through speakers. We have Aruthur Mafokate as one of the speakers who will talk about how upcoming artists can make it in the music industry. We also have other two speakers who will be focusing on marketing your music and how you can turn your craft into money,” adds Noluthando.
Tickets for the awards ceremony are priced at R100.
