Looking for things to do in Johannesburg this coming weekend, 15 May to 17 May 2026? We've got the perfect guide to keep you, the family and your friends entertained.

There’s no shortage of things to do in Joburg this week, with the city buzzing with live entertainment, nightlife, cultural experiences, outdoor activities and foodie events happening across every corner of Johannesburg.
Whether you’re looking for a sophisticated evening out, a high-energy party, a creative community gathering or a relaxed daytime experience, there’s something on the calendar for every mood and every kind of social plan.
Heal the World is a powerful exploration of resilience, healing, and self-discovery. Through reimagined interpretations of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, this ballet, choreographed by award-winning Angela Revie, showcases dance as a universal language that transcends our differences.
Tash is bringing the Durban heat to Jozi for an evening of unfiltered comedy and curry – and it doesn’t get better than this. The night kicks off with a comedy show, followed by a Durban curry buffet dinner at Equinox Restaurant.
It may be cold in Jozi, but Lady Zamar and Khadeair are bringing the heat as they headline In Our City at Maracanà. Doors open at 7pm, with the energy carrying through into the early hours of the morning.
Whether you run, walk, or jog, this scenic 5k route through the Joburg Zoo offers the perfect chance to reconnect with nature and enjoy the fresh air in a safe, relaxed environment. Be prepared to hear some sounds of the wild, from birds chirping to the occasional roar of a lion.
Continental Nights is a celebration that brings together different cultures, backgrounds, and communities through the power of music. Tickets will also be available at the door.
If you’ve ever wondered how a coffee bean makes its way from crop to cup and into your morning (or afternoon, or night - we don’t judge) brew, Bean There is offering a behind-the-scenes look into the process. The team will take you through the journey from crop to cup, lead a coffee tasting, and share home-brewing techniques. Each session is limited to 10 people, so I’d suggest booking as soon as possible.
This play festival gives high school learners a platform to create and perform original or scripted works to a live audience. At the end of each evening of performances, learners receive feedback from industry officials, who select four or more plays to advance to the finals, where an overall winner is chosen.
If you want to meet, have real conversations, and connect with like-minded individuals, this event is for you. Bring your picnic basket and get ready to be inspired, gain, and share ideas.
"Oh, yes, it's ladies' night, and the feeling's right!" Every Thursday at New Orleans Restaurant is all about the ladies. Think exclusive drink specials, games, surprises, and of course, a live DJ to keep the vibes going all night long. Who says the weekend starts on a Friday?
